Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disability (ICF/ID)

Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disability (ICF/ID) provide care for developmentally disabled persons who also have significant physical disabilities and need 24 hour nursing care. As a result of the State's policy of care for people with developmental disabilities in the community, the number of ICF/ID's has declined significantly over the last 10 years.

Currently, there is one ICF/ID remaining in Vermont. It is a not-for-profit home operated by a community mental health agency. For further information regarding the community mental health agency, you may contact the Developmental Disabilities Services Divison in the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living.

For additional information about ICF/ID, please contact the Division of Rate Setting.
