The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) conducts audits of State's Medicaid programs to help with combating fraud, waste and abuse.

HEDIS Hybrid Measure Medical Record Review (MRR)
HEDIS is a nationally recognized set of performance measures. VT Medicaid is required to produce HEDIS administrative (claims only) and hybrid measures; hybrid measures are produced by completing a Medical Record Review (MRR).
Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM)
The PERM audit is administered by CMS and aims to further reduce improper payments to all provider types.
