What is Access Plan?

Access Plan is a health insurance program for Vermonters who need family planning and family planning related services.

How do I apply for Access Plan?

You can apply for Access Plan at any of Planned Parenthood’s Vermont health centers, and at their Keene, NH location. If you qualify, their staff will enroll you during your visit. The only think you need to do is make an appointment.

How do I know if I qualify for Access Plan?

You may be eligible for Access Plan if:

  • You are a Vermont resident;
  • You are a United States citizen or have eligible immigration status for Medicaid;
  • Your income is below 208% of the Federal Poverty Level;
  • You do not have Medicaid, and
  • You are not pregnant.

What does Access Plan cover?

Access Plan is a health insurance program that ONLY covers family planning services and family planning-related services. Examples include:

Family Planning Services:

  • General reproductive services
  • Birth control counseling and management
  • Contraceptive services
  • Routine primary preventive services, such as pap tests

Family Planning-related Services:

  • Treatment of medical conditions routinely diagnosed during a family planning visit, such as treatment of urinary tract infections or sexually transmitted infections
  • Preventive services, such as the HPV vaccine
  • Treatment of a major medical complication resulting from a family planning visit

Where can I get Access Plan coverage?

Any Medicaid enrolled provider that delivers family planning services can bill under Access Plan.
