Open Enrollment Ends January 15

Expanded Customer Support Center Hours Available Today through Saturday

Waterbury, VT – Open Enrollment is the time for Vermonters to sign up for 2022 health and dental plans through Vermont’s health insurance marketplace, Vermont Health Connect. Thanks to tax credits available only through the marketplace, tens of thousands of Vermonters have found health insurance to be more affordable this year than ever before. Those who still need to act should do so before Open Enrollment closes on Saturday.

“Vermonters look out for each other,” said Jenney Samuelson, Interim Secretary of the Agency of Human Services, “That’s a tradition that has helped our state achieve one of the lowest uninsured rates in the nation. And it’s a tradition we hope will carry forth throughout these final days of Open Enrollment. By spreading the word to friends, family, and neighbors, we can take another step toward helping all Vermonters achieve greater financial security and peace of mind.”

The Customer Support Center is offering extended hours for the final days of Open Enrollment. Vermonters can call toll-free (855) 899-9600 from 8am to 7pm this Wednesday through Friday, and from 8am to 1pm this Saturday.

"It’s inspiring to hear stories about how much of a difference the extra financial help is making in Vermonters’ lives,” said Andrea DeLaBruere, Commissioner of the Department of Vermont Health Access.  “If you haven’t looked in a while and are assuming you don’t qualify for lower costs, please visit the 2022 Plan Comparison Tool before Saturday. You might be pleasantly surprised.”

A fall report showed that the American Rescue Plan Act cut health insurance premiums more for Vermonters than for residents of any other state.  For 2022, even Vermonters with relatively high incomes can benefit.  A family of four earning $90,000 may find plans as low as $24 per month, while a family earning $150,000 may get more than $1,000 per month in tax credits – lowering their health insurance costs by more than $12,000 for the year -- when they sign up with Vermont Health Connect.
